Twin sisters from Madison continue to excel in college hoops

Arnolies each chosen as all-conference selection for different teams

Madison High School graduate Alayna Arnolie had another strong women's college basketball season for the Gettysburg College team this past winter.

Madison High School graduates and twin sisters Grace and Alayna Arnolie continue to be standout women’s college basketball players. The guards each were chosen all-conference at their respective schools in recent days.

Alayna Arnolie was a starting sophomore guard on the Gettysburg women’s team during the winter. She was chosen as the Centennial Conference Player of the Year and a first-team selection for her 2023-24 performance. In addition, she was named first-team all-region by D3hoops.com, and a Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association All-America honorable choice.

The guard started all 28 games for the Division III Gettysburg squad, leading the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game. She also had a team-high 72 three-pointers.

Arnolie handed out 61 assists to go with a team-best 46 steals, while adding 17 blocked shots and averaging 3.7 rebounds per game.

Gettysburg (24-4) won the conference-tournament title for the third straight season and advanced to the first round of the NCAA tournament to St. John Fisher, 55-46.

Grace Arnolie was a starting guard for the Division I Brown University Ivy League teams. She was chosen honorable-mention all-conference.

Arnolie ranked second on the team in scoring at 14.4 points per game and third in rebounding at 4.2. She tied for sixth in the league with 3.3 assists (89 total) per game and was second in both three-point percentage (.320) and three-pointers made per game (2.4).

At Madison, the sisters led the Warhawks to three Class 6 state championships their sophomore, junior and senior seasons and the four-year starters each were 1,000-point scorers. Both were named to all-district, all-region and all-state multiple times.

Through two seasons of college play, each is on pace to score 1,000-career points. Alayna has 716 points and Grace 692.
