Mom Nature may be keeping snow to herself for coming week

First week of February likely will be calm. After that, it's a guessing game

There wasn't much to be said for the light wintry mix that passed through Northern Virginia overnight, and with it out of the picture, we may have seven days of relatively uneventful weather on the horizon.

The GazetteLeader's weather partner, AccuWeather, is suggesting little precipitation of any kind for the first week of February. High temperatures each day will bobble between the 40s and 50s, with lows circling the freezing mark.

But never fear: Mom Nature is never without a steady supply of snowballs, so don't rule out a messy month ahead before the first real signs of spring start to materialize.
