McLean youth select basketball team wins Fairfax County title

Team finished undefeated with a 17-0 overall record

In their fourth and final season in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League, the McLean Select 8th-grade boys team won the Division 1 tournament championship.

McLean finished with a perfect 17-0 record, and will age up and move on next season.

McLean was led in the title game against Braddock Road by tournament Most Valuable Player Simas Kacerauskas. He scored 25 points, made seven three-pointers, had five assists, three steals and blocked two shots.

The McLean team of players ages 13 and 14 defeated other Division I teams from Vienna, Fairfax, Arlington, Chantilly, Alexandria, Centreville and Gainesville.

The McLean team was coached by Rob Harley and Lex Concepcion.

Kacerauskas, Connor Cully, Wes Ochsendorf and Patrick Turney received all-league recognition. Other players were Mark Joyner, Hudson Mostashari, J.T. Holoubek, Max Liu, Tyler Kim, Luke Swigart and  Luke Murphy.
