Two local high-school players were chosen to the all-state Division I girls private-school basketball squad for their play during the 2023-24 season, and another was selected second team.
Making first team were Potomac School freshman point guard Sabrina Anderson and Flint Hill School junior guard/forward Raigan McCalla. Potomac School junior guard/forward Catherine LeTendre was chosen second-team all-state.
Anderson had a standout season in her first varsity high-school campaign. She scored 545 points, averaging 18.2 points per game, and yanked 3.6 rebounds a contest. Anderson made 83 three-point baskets, had 78 assists, 63 steals, blocked eight shots and grabbed 109 rebounds.
She helped Potomac School finish 21-9 and reach the semifinals of the Division I state playoffs.
McCalla scored 20.1 points each contest while grabbing 12.4 rebounds an outing. She scored 562 points for the Huskies, giving her 1,228 for her career.
For her season-long performance, McCalla also was chosen to the All-Independent School League’s AA Division team, as was Anderson.
LeTendre averaged 12.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. She made 28 three-pointers and had 146 rebounds with 59 steals. LeTendre also made All-ISL.
Also a standout girls lacrosse player, LeTendre will play that sport in college at Duke University.
• Flint Hill senior forward Quinn Gorman was chosen second-team Division I boys all-state for his performance during the 2023-24 season. He will play in college at Division I Stony Brook University in New York.
