Tre Vasiliadis is a starting college runningback.

His college rushing totals aren’t as impressive as lofty gains during a standout high-school football career for the Langley Saxons, but Tre Vasiliadis has still been a productive runningback at the next level, nonetheless.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound senior was the leading rusher in 2023 for the Division III Carnegie Mellon Tartans team in Pittsburgh. He ran for 847 yards and five touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 64 yards. He rushed for a single-game season-high 135 yards on 30 carries against Bethany College of West Virginia, and had two other 100-yard rushing games.

For his effort, Vasiliadis was a second-team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference selection on offense. He helped the Tartans finish 10-1 overall, second in the conference at 9-1, and win the season-ending Eastern College Athletic Conference Asa S. Bushnell Bowl over Brockport State, 37-7. He rushed for 67 yards and caught one pass in that victory.

For his career so far at Carnegie Mellon, Vasiliadis has run for 2,650 yards, which ranks fifth on the team’s all-time list. He rushed for 667 yards in an injury-shortened 2022 campaign, coming after having 1,120 yards on the ground and scoring 16 touchdowns as a sophomore.

Vasiliadis also has 30 career catches for 152 yards and a TD.

Vasiliadis hopes to play a pandemic-allowed fifth season next fall for the Tartans, which will give him the opportunity to climb as high as third on the team’s all-time rushing list.

At Langley, Vasiliadis is the football program’s second all-time leading career rusher with 4,156 yards and 35 touchdowns. He amassed some 4,500 all-purpose yards, which also included receiving, returns and passing.

During his senior season for Langley, Vasiliadis ran for 2,097 yards, earning top all-district and all-region honors.
