Langley athletes have strong showings at district meet

DeLong places high in multiple events, McFadyen second in two

Leading the third-place Langley Saxons girls team at the recent Liberty District track and field championships at Wakefield High School was double runner-up finisher Zoey McFadyen (100 and 200) and she added a third in the 400 and a fourth in the long jump.

Also for the high-school team, Alexandra DeLong was second in the high and long jumps, fourth in the 100 and fifth in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Hazel Calway was second in the 3,200, third were Lila Pesavento (1,600) and Madeleine Spanner (3,200) and Pesavento was sixth in the 800.

For the fourth-place Langley boys, Blake Thompson won the discus (152-7) and was second in the shot, Evan Krawczyk was second in the discus, Tejus Verma was second in the 400, Joe Korachnak was third in the shot, the 4x100 relay won in 3:30.15 and the 4x800 was second.

For the sixth-place Marshall boys, Kanuux Chaudhuri was second n the 200.

Marshall’s Jada Patrick had a strong meet with a victory in the girls shot (37-10) and a second in the discus.
