Langley girls track and field team ties for second in region meet

Multiple Saxons had top-five finishes in events

Langley High School runner Lila Waters helped her girls team to a second-place tie at the region indoor track and field meet.

In the girls 6D North Region indoor track and field high-school championships the Langley Saxons tied for second place with South Lakes with 73 points. Westfield won with 79.

Leading Langley was distance runner Lila Waters. She won the 1,000-meters in 3-minutes flat and was second in the 1,600. Langley’s 4x200 relay was the team’s other winner in 1:49.97.

Langley Corinne Jaggard was second in the 500 and fourth in the high jump. Lila Pesavento was third in the 1,000 and Zoey McFadyen was third in the 300.

Kate Finkelman was fourth in the 55 dash; Madeleine Spaner was fourth in the 3,200; Jaeda Fontaine-Rasaiah was fifth in the shot put; Hazel Calway was fifth in the 1,600; and Alexandra DeLong was fifth in the high jump, sixth in the long jump and 10th in the pole vault.

Langley’s 4x800 relay was fourth and the 4x400 fifth.

For the Oakton High School girls, Kylie Taylor was second in the shot put and Osakiedeme Ikhinmwin was third.
