The Langley High School boys swim and dive team gathers with the state-championship trophy.

It was a repeat state-championship performance in essentially the same manner for the Langley Saxons.

The boys team won the Virginia High School League's Class 6 swimming and diving title Feb. 16 with 216 points, well ahead of the runner-up Robinson Rams with 161. For the second straight year, Langley won the state crown without winning an event or having at least a second-place individual finisher during the swim or dive finals.

The state crown was the team's third in school history, its first since 2018.

The Saxons scored in the 2024 meet by finishing second in two relays and having multiple swimmers place high in individual events.

Langley was second in the medley and 400 freestyle relays. Thirds by Hunter Zipperer in the 50 free and Charles Hu in the 100 free had Langley's highest individual finishes. Hu also was fifth in the 200 free and Zipperer eighth in the 100 free.

Michael Zhou was fourth in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke, Jacob Lee was sixth in the 100 butterfly and 11th in the back, Parris Garvin was 10th in the 100 breaststroke and 11th in the 200 free, Avery Kuhn was 10th in the 200 free and 12th in the back, Evan Poulos was 14th in the 500 free and Ethan Shin 15th in the 100 free.

Zhou, Lee, Shin and Zipperer made up the medley relay. Zhou, Hu, Kuhn and Zipperer swam on the 400 free relay.

Langley's 200 free relay of Lee, Shin, Kuhn and Hu finished 11th.

The Saxons also won region and district championships this season.
