Asked for help recently to identify the school’s all-time career scoring leaders in girls basketball, former Flint Hill School head coach Jody Patrick got to work.

Such a list wasn’t available for the high-school team. So Patrick and her husband, Dick, a former longtime USA Today sportswriter, began tracking down and compiling that information.

What the two amassed was a list of the top-20 all-time scoring leaders during Patrick’s 21 seasons as the Huskies’ head coach. The list is included with this story.

Patrick stepped down following the 2021-22 season after being Flint Hill’s head coach for 21 seasons and winning 345 games. The team won little and played fewer games each season during its few years of existence prior to Patrick’s tenure. The individual scoring list she compiled likely includes the large majority of those top scorers.

Patrick was asked about the list because current Flint Hill player Raigan McCalla has a chance to become the team’s all-time scoring leader next season. McCalla finished her junior season with 1,263 points, standing third place on the Huskies’ list.

Flint Hill’s all-time scoring leader is K.C.  Gordon (1,426 points). The 2006 graduate went on to play in college at the U.S. Naval Academy. Alex Long, a 2012 grad, is No. 2 on the list with 1,404 points. Long played at Davidson College.

Six Flint Hill players have scored 1,000 career points or more, with 2019 graduate Claire Miller fourth on the list with 1,128. The other two Flint Hill 1,000-point career scorers are Whitney Wiley (2019 graduate, 1,105 points) and Katia Bratishko (2006 graduate, 1,042 points).

Of the 20 players on that list, 16 played college basketball, some on the club level.
