Flint Hill, Potomac School football players chosen all-conference

Nine Huskies were picked All-MAC, six on defense

There were nine football players from the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference championship Flint Hill Huskies team chosen all-conference for their performances during the fall high-school season.

Three of the players were on offense, including senior runningback Andrew King, who will play in college at the University of  Richmond. King rushed for 580 yards and five touchdowns and caught 22 passes for 255 yards and one score.

Junior wide receiver Bryce Stewart also was chosen all-MAC. He had 14 catches for 270 yards and a touchdown and ran for 59 yards and one TD. Senior lineman Anwaar Smith was the other all-MAC choice on offense.

Six Flint Hill players were chosen all-MAC on defense. They were junior defensive backs Kobe Davis and Victor McNeal, senior linebackers Julian Amankwah and Gary Jones, junior linebacker Kariq Waters and junior lineman Jeff Wells.

Flint Hill finished the season with a 7-3 overall record and was 3-0 to win the MAC.

The Huskies qualified for the four-team Division I private-school state playoffs in Virginia as the No. 3 seed. They lost to second-seed and host Trinity Episcopal of Richmond, 30-28, in the semifinals on a walkoff field goal, snapping the team’s six-game winning streak.

The MAC title was the team’s first since 2019.

Three football players from Potomac School were chosen all-MAC – senior offensive lineman Bryce Hall, junior linebacker Richard Perry and sophomore wide receiver Akim Iscandari.
