Letter: Why aren't Fairfax supervisors holding FCPS to account?

'Why did the supervisors not hold FCPS accountable for a simple request for information – information it had two months to supply?'
letter-to-editor

To the editor: On Sept. 26, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to carry into fiscal 2024 more than $203 million from the fiscal 2023 budget and more than $118 million in unspent federal stimulus funds.

The unanimous vote was cast despite supervisors not having received a response from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to a request for further information on its plans to use more than $102 million of the carryover funds FCPS had requested.

One has to ask: Why did the supervisors not hold FCPS accountable for a simple request for information – information it had two months to supply?
