Any standing water on the roadways and sidewalks of Northern Virginia likely will be frozen solid by tomorrow morning and stay that way for a while, as three days of frigid temperatures are about to descend on the region following today's snowstorm.

Projected low temperatures for the heart of Northern Virginia will be 19 degrees tonight [Jan. 19], 14 degrees Saturday night and 11 degrees Sunday night, with the potential that even in daytime, temperatures won't surmount the freezing mark until Monday.

That's according to AccuWeather, the official weather partner of the GazetteLeader, whose forecast can be found at GazetteLeader.com/weather.

Things turn around starting Tuesday with a warming trend, but don't get your hopes up too much – highs for later in that week will be in the 50s, but with the potential for substantial amounts of rain that should work to clear out much of the snow that hasn't been packed and frozen in place.

How many days until pitchers and catchers report for spring training, you ask? A mere 26.
