Nighttime also will be uncomfortable for those without air conditioning

Mother Nature will be turning the burner up to 99 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday [6/22 and 6/23], if the forecast put out by GazetteLeader weather partner AccuWeather holds true.

Days and nights will be getting progressively warmer and more humid leading up to a blistering weekend.

“The heat will be dangerous, especially for those without air conditioning,” AccuWeather says.

Saturday afternoon could bring thunderstorms in some areas of Northern Virginia, although whether that will cool things down or simply stoke the fires remains to be seen.

Nighttime will bring very little relief, with lows only in the mid-70s coupled with humidity.
