The classic children’s story “Alice in Wonderland” takes on a new meaning when the Alden Theatre at the McLean Community Center presents “Alice: Dreaming of Wonderland” in early May.
Based on the classic Lewis Carroll tale, “Alice” is an action-packed theatrical circus full of surprises, amazing acts, video projection with 3-D mapping and live music.
The production features an international cast of veteran performers from across Europe and North America, including acrobats, a four-member hand-to-hand balancing act, a one-man band and a magician who makes art from smoke and bubbles.
“Get ready to join an amazing journey,” center officials said. “Imagine the March Hare balancing on a tower of chairs during a tea party, or Alice performing acrobatics inside a giant keyhole. These cirque acts are part of this delightful, family friendly production.”
The show will be presented on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for McLean residents, $17-$20 for others. For tickets and information, see the Website at aldentheatre.org.
