Washington-Lee High School (now Washington-Liberty) swimming standout Christopher Lengle recently was inducted into the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Lengle was chosen as the team’s Most Valuable Player his final two years and was among the top 16 performers in the Big East Conference championships for four straight seasons.

Lengle, who began swimming competitively at age 5, also swam for the Arlington Forest Tigers of the summertime Northern Virginia Swimming League and year round for the Arlington Aquatic Club. He was a four-time team MVP for the W-L boys squad.

As a senior at W-L, Lengle received a Potomac Valley Scholar-Athlete Award and was named the Outstanding Swimmer of the Year in Arlington County.

Lengle graduated from W-L in 1998 and from Georgetown in 2002, with a degree in economics. He now lives in Riverside, Conn.,  working in the financial services industry and staying active by competing in triathons and teaching his three children about swimming.
