Rising 10th- through 12th-grade students who want to explore a career in law enforcement are being encouraged to apply for the 2024 Teen Police Academy, sponsored by the Arlington County Police Department.

Through classroom presentations, hands-on learning, scenario training, and field trips, the Teen Police Academy will educate participants about a career in law enforcement, while also giving them a better understanding of how the police department operates and its role in the community, police officials said.

Two sessions will be offered, one running from July 15-19 and the other from July 29 to Aug. 2, each taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Long Bridge Park aquatics center in Crystal City.

There is no cost; participation is limited to students who live in and/or attend school in Arlington.

Applications are due by May 12. For information, see the Website at bit.ly/4a5YvbB.
