Many local football players chosen to all-region teams

Madison High School's Cord Yates (5) was chosen as the 6D North Region's Offensive Player of the Year and center Ari Rosenberg (50) and lineman Teddy Lewis (71) were chosen first-team all region.

Led by Madison Warhawks' senior wide receiver Cord Yates and senior linebacker Luke Jarvis, a number of local high-school football players were chosen all-6D North Region first- and second-team for their season-long performances during the 2023 campaign.

Yates was chosen as the region's Offensive Player of the Year. He rushed for 111 yards and one score, caught 50 passes for 773 yards and eight touchdowns, had 137 yards in punt returns, 96 in kickoff returns and gained 1,117 combined yards.

Jarvis was chosen as the region's Defensive Player of the Year. He was one of Madison's leading tacklers.

Chosen first-team from the region champion Madison team were Yates at wide receiver, Jarvis at linebacker, junior runningback Dominic Knicely, junior center Arie Rosenberg, junior offensive tackle Teddy Lewis, junior defensive end Jack Ambruzs, junior defensive lineman Caiden Green and Knicely as a kick returner.

Langley High School senior Blake Thompson was a first-team tight end.

Many local players were chosen second team, including Knicely as a punt returner and McLean High senior Kevin Kabasele as the second-team all-purpose Player of the Year on defense.

From Madison, senior Caleb Smith was a defensive back.

Chosen second-team from Marshall were senior Sam Morales as a runningback and linebacker, senior Derek Lenert as a kick returner and defensive back and junior Oliver Smith on the offensive line.

From Langley, senior Kristo Reinhardt was a second-team offensive lineman, junior Robert Roncskevitz was a runningback, senior Max Anderson was a defensive lineman, junior Jack Jordan was the center and senior Michael Iokovlev was a punter. 

Selected second-team for McLean were senior runningback Kaelan Ferris, defensive linemen Will Olson (senior) and Will Lewey (junior), senior linebacker Easton Johnson and senior defensive back Jahi Jamison.

Oakton senior John Mead also was a second-team punter.

Madison's Justin Counts was chosen as the region Coach of the Year.
