Madison softball team extends long victory streak to 12 games

After losing four of their first five games this season, the Madison Warhawks (13-4) have been on a roll ever since, winning 12 straight times in girls high-school softball action.

Madison leads the Concorde District with an 8-0 record, including a 17-3 road victory over the Oakton Cougars on May 2, with two games to play.

In the win over Oakton, Madison had 18 hits, with Lucy Griepentrog and Allison Creighton (three RBI) having three each and Johanna Hostetler, Tatum Novak (two RBI) and Ayla Condill two each. Bridget Whitfield, Mia Deborja and Sofia Marshall each had a hit and two RBI. Deborja’s hit was a homer.

Ava Livingston pitched all five innings of the shortened game, striking out seven.

Madison defeated Patriot, 11-7, and Westfield, 10-2, its previous games.
