On Feb. 8 around 8:30 p.m., a woman who was trespassing in a restricted track area at the Spring Hill Metrorail station in Tysons was struck after intentionally placing herself in front of a Silver Line train, a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority spokesman said.

The woman was conscious and responsive when first responders arrived. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. No further information was available on her identity and health status.

Rescue personnel also took the train’s operator to a hospital because of emotional distress experienced during the incident, the spokesman said.
