A motorist traveling northbound on Lawyers Road, N.W., on Feb. 9 at 2:36 p.m. attempted to turn right onto Church Street, N.W., when the driver clipped the curb with the vehicle and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, Vienna police said.
The vehicle struck a streetlight pole, then traveled across the intersection and struck a fire hydrant, brickwork and a fence.
The vehicle came to a stop at 145 Church Street, N.W., after striking the railings and an awning on the building.
