Vienna police dispatched officers to Dominion Road and Ayr Hill Avenue, N.E., on May 15 at 10:23 p.m. after someone reported that a man allegedly was armed with a knife and attempting to harm himself.
After speaking with the officers, the man agreed to drop the weapon, and police took him into custody on an emergency-custody order.
Rescue personnel assessed the man and ensured he was uninjured before police transported him to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
