A patron of the hypothermia shelter at Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park St., N.E., was sleeping in front of the exterior door on Feb. 2 at 3:04 a.m. when a shelter worker asked him to move, Vienna police said.

The man reportedly became upset and smashed the window inside the door, then threatened to bomb the church before running from the scene, police said.

This case remains under investigation, authorities said.
