The Vienna Town Council voted 7-0 to award a $75,000 contract May 20 to two companies for on-call asphalt repair in fiscal year 2025.
The town received five bids for the contract. Espina Paving and Resurface Inc. were the primary and secondary awardees, respectively. The firms will repair asphalt roadway-utility cuts and distressed-pavement areas, as well as perform other asphalt excavation and repairs.
The town designated a secondary awardee to perform work when the primary company cannot, as such repairs after utility breaks are vital for pedestrian and motorist safety, officials said.
