A 44-year-old man of no fixed address faces two felony charges following a Feb. 2 incident at the hypothermia shelter at Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park St., N.E.

The incident occurred at 3:04 a.m. when the suspect, a patron of the shelter, was sleeping in front of its exterior door and became upset when a shelter worker asked him to move, Vienna police said.

The man allegedly smashed the window inside the door and threatened to bomb the church before running from the scene, police said.

Vienna police subsequently obtained two felony warrants for the man, which charged him with property destruction and making threats to bomb.

Officers from the Fairfax City Police Department on Feb. 9 located the man at The Lamb Center in their jurisdiction. They arrested the man and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities served him with the two warrants.
