The Fairfax County Police Department’s Tysons Urban Team (TUT) arrested an out-of-state retail-theft crew May 11 after an alleged stealing spree in Fair Oaks and Tysons over a four-month period.

On May 11 at 1:07 p.m., TUT detectives were alerted to a retail-theft crew operating in the 11700 block of Fair Oaks Mall. After allegedly committing a larceny at that mall, the crew traveled to Tysons Corner Center in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road and reportedly committed additional larcenies.

Detectives located the crew and took two suspects into custody, but one suspect fled the scene, police said. A search of the suspect’s vehicle reportedly revealed more than $15,000 of stolen merchandise.

Police said the crew is linked to multiple larcenies over the past four months, which resulted in the theft of more than $27,000 worth of merchandise. The thefts included:

• $3,921 worth of merchandise in Tysons on Feb. 24.

• $6,026 worth in Tysons on March 23.

• $2,696 worth in Tysons on April 13.

• $15,290 worth in Fair Oaks and Tysons on May 11.

Authorities have charged Oscar William Laverde Laverde, 56, of New York with four counts of grand larceny, four counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, four counts of larceny with intent to sell and possession of a burglarious tool.

Sindia Noguera, 43, of New Jersey has been charged with five counts of grand larceny, five counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, five counts of larceny with intent to sell and possession of a burglarious tool.

Both suspects are being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
