A North Carolina resident told Vienna police that, between Nov. 11 and 19, the person had purchased a dog through a Website and driven from North Carolina to pick up the dog.
But when they arrived at the Vienna address, they found it was a scam, police said.
Police advised the complainant to file a fraud report with the person’s home police jurisdiction.
