McLEAN INTERFAITH CHOIR TO HOST ANNUAL CONCERT:  The McLean Interfaith Choir will hold its seventh annual interfaith concert, featuring singers from various faith traditions in the community, on Sunday, May 5 at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church.

“This year’s event will include a volunteer fair where you can connect with local service organizations and explore volunteer opportunities starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m.,” organizers said. “Stick around after the concert for refreshments and more time to mingle with the service organizations.”

Admission is free, but donations are requested for SHARE of McLean’s food pantry. The organization’s most pressing needs can be found at www.shareofmclean.org/food-and-clothing-pantry.

The church is located at 1724 Chain Bridge Road in McLean.

NEW TAKE ON ‘ALICE IN WONDERLAND’ TALE COMING TO ALDEN THEATRE: The classic children’s story “Alice in Wonderland” takes on a new meaning when the Alden Theatre at the McLean Community Center presents “Alice: Dreaming of Wonderland” in early May.

Based on the classic Lewis Carroll tale, “Alice” is an action-packed theatrical circus full of surprises, amazing acts, video projection with 3-D mapping and live music.

The production features an international cast of veteran performers from across Europe and North America, including acrobats, a four-member hand-to-hand balancing act, a one-man band and a magician who makes art from smoke and bubbles.

“Get ready to join an amazing journey,” center officials said. “Imagine the March Hare balancing on a tower of chairs during a tea party, or Alice performing acrobatics inside a giant keyhole. These cirque acts are part of this delightful, family friendly production.”

The show will be presented on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for McLean residents, $17-$20 for others. For tickets and information, see the Website at aldentheatre.org.
