New members to take office on June 5 following local election
vote-69

Six Dranesville Small District 1A residents, following absentee voting held March 27 through May 13 and in-person polling May 17 and 18 at the McLean Day festival, have won seats on the McLean Community Center’s 2024-25 Governing Board.

Adults candidates winning three-year terms were Doug Jeffery (490 votes), Michael Monroe (453) and Peter Pin (412). Another adult candidate, Ron Keesing, secured a one-year term with 410 votes.

Two youth candidates also were elected to the board for one-year terms. Sonya Thott received 73 votes and will represent the Langley High School boundary area. Aaron Stark received 81 votes and will represent the McLean High School boundary area.

The League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area acted as tellers at the election.

McLean Community Center officials presented the election tallies to Dranesville District Supervisor Jimmy Bierman (D) on May 20. Bierman presented the results to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors at its May 21 meeting and the board certified the outcome.

The outgoing Governing Board’s final meeting will be held June 5 at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed immediately by the incoming board’s first meeting, when the new board members will be sworn in.
