Expect a rainy weekend, with the wet stuff moving into Northern Virginia Friday afternoon or evening.

There should be a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day on Friday [5/17], with “a couple of showers late,” according to the GazetteLeader’s official weather partner, AccuWeather. That will usher in about 48 hours where rain – and occasionally thunderstorms – will be possible and perhaps even likely.

By Sunday night, the rain peters out, with a sunny day with highs in the low 70s expected for Monday.
