Fairfax County Public Schools’ Gatehouse Administrative Center will have its cooling towers replaced, following action Oct. 26 by the School Board.
Board members approved an item on their consent agenda that awarded a $761,000 contract to Service Mechanical Inc. to perform the work at the administrative center, located at 8115 Gatehouse Road in Merrifield.
Three other firms bid on the contract, but Service Mechanical Inc., which has performed satisfactorily on other School Board projects in the past, was deemed by school-system officials to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
