Fairfax police announce details on upcoming sobriety checkpoints

Current list runs through November with enforcement efforts in all parts of county

Don’t say you weren’t warned. The Fairfax County Police Department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints around the county throughout the year  to identify and remove impaired drivers from local roadways.

The checkpoints, hosted by the department’s dedicated Driving Under the Influence squad and district stations, will occur between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. on:

• March 22 at Annandale Road and Walnut Hill Lane.

• April 13 at Little River Turnpike and Woodland Road.

• April 20 at Arlington Boulevard and Graham Road.

• May 3 at Telegraph and Franconia roads.

• May 17 at Richmond Highway and Jeff Todd Way.

• May 25 at Ox and Clara Barton roads.

• June 1 at Route 50 and Rugby Road.

• June 7 at Richmond Highway and Furnace Road.

• June 28 at eastbound Leesburg Pike and Fairfax County Parkway.

• July 6 at Braddock and Ox roads.

• July 12 at Burke Lake Road in front of Lake Braddock High School.

• Aug. 3 at Little River Turnpike and Minor Lane.

• Aug. 9 at Clifton Road and Burns Way.

• Sept. 6 at Richmond Highway and Shannon’s Green Way.

• Oct. 26 at westbound Leesburg Pike and Westpark Drive.

• Nov. 9 at Leesburg Pike and Fairfax County Parkway.
