The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold a series of online meetings April 8 through 23 to discuss proposals for its 2024 paving and restriping program.

As part of the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) annual repaving program, FCDOT and VDOT work together to identify transportation-infrastructure improvements to increase driver, bicyclist and pedestrian safety.

Most of the improvements will be made outside the GazetteLeader’s readership area. The meetings below will discuss projects within the newspaper’s coverage zone:

• The Providence District meeting on April 10 at 7 p.m. will discuss proposed bicycle lanes on Anderson Road between Birdwood Avenue and Magarity Road and a proposed Capital Bikeshare station near Anderson Road and Dartford Drive.

• The Dranesville District meeting on April 22 at 7 p.m. will discuss proposed crosswalk improvements at Chesterbrook and Kirby roads in McLean.

Staff from both agencies will present proposed changes, answer questions and accept feedback at the meetings. After each meeting, the 2024 Paving and Restriping Program’s Web page will be updated.
