MAN CHARGED WITH FELONY AFTER ALLEGEDLY THREATENING TO BLOW UP POLICE STATION: A Vienna police officer on April 14 at 8:15 p.m. observed a man in the 200 block of Cedar Lane, S.E., who appeared to be intoxicated.

Upon interacting with the man, the officer reportedly detected signs of impairment.

Police arrested the 44-year-old Vienna man. While being transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, the man allegedly began to make several statements threatening police and to blow up the police station, authorities said.

The man also allegedly threatened the officer and his family, and continued to act aggressively at the magistrate’s office, police said.

Authorities charged the man with felony threats to bomb, misdemeanor obstruction of justice and being drunk in public. He was held without bond.

VIENNA MAN, 62, CHARGED WITH SIMPLE ASSAULT AFTER PARKING DISPUTE: A woman was legally parked in a handicapped space at Kaizen MMA, 124 Branch Road, S.E., on April 13 at 11:58 a.m. when a man parked next to her in what she believed was another handicapped spot, Vienna police said.

She confronted the man, believing he was in violation by parking in the space, and an argument ensued, police said.

While arguing, both parties pulled their phones out. The man believed the woman was recording him and reportedly pushed her hand, which resulted in the woman’s pursuing charges against him for assault.

Police issued the 62-year-old Vienna man a summons charging simple assault and released him on his signature.

HERNDON MAN CHARGED IN ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT FROM VIENNA STORE: The owner and a manager of Tobacco King & Vape, 332 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on April 12 at 7:49 p.m. that an employee allegedly was embezzling from the store.

Police arrested the 23-year-old Herndon man and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with embezzlement and released him on his own recognizance.

SECURITY CAMERA SPOTS MAN TRYING TO ENTER VIENNA RESIDENT’S HOME: A security system on April 18 at 3:28 a.m. alerted a resident living in the 300 block of Park Street, N.E., to movement in his back yard.

The resident checked his security camera and observed a man in the back yard attempting to open the rear doors to his home, Vienna police said.

Officers immediately responded, but did not locate anyone in the yard or the area. There was no entry made into the home and there appeared to be no damage, police said.

VIENNA POLICE: WOMAN FRAUDULENTLY WITHDREW FUNDS FROM PERSON’S ACCOUNT:  A woman entered Northwest Federal Credit Union, 231 Maple Ave., E., on Feb. 29 between 3 and 5 p.m. and reportedly withdrew money from another person’s account using fraudulent identification, Vienna police said.

VIENNA RESIDENT REPORTS LARGE AMOUNT OF STICKS DUMPED IN PARK: A Vienna resident informed town police that, sometime between April 13 at 9 p.m. and April 15 at noon, someone had dumped a large amount of sticks from landscaping debris between Yeonas Park and Southside Park, which is located at 1317 Ross Drive, S.W.

VIENNA RESIDENT REPORTS 3 PAIRS OF GLASSES STOLEN FROM VEHICLE: A resident living in the 700 block of Marshall Road, S.W., told Vienna police that sometime between April 14 at 9 p.m. and April 15 at 7 a.m. someone stole three pairs of glasses from his vehicle.
