FAIRFAX MAN, 30, CHARGED WITH FELONY HIT-AND-RUN AFTER VIENNA CRASH: Following a vehicle accident at Maple Avenue, W., and Pleasant Street, S.W., on April 8 at 7:49 a.m., the driver allegedly exchanged seats with a passenger, fled the scene and went into his business in the 300 block of Maple Avenue, W., Vienna police said.

Subsequently, an officer apprehended the driver and discovered an active warrant for his arrest in Pennsylvania, police said.

Police arrested the 30-year-old Fairfax man and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with felony hit-and-run and driving on a revoked operator’s license.

The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office will pursue the Pennsylvania warrant, police said.

VIENNA DRUGSTORE EMPLOYEE REPORTS SHOPLIFTING: An employee at Walgreens, 225 Maple Ave, E., told Vienna police on April 11 at 2:34 p.m. that a man had placed several items in a basket and left the store without paying for them.

MAN STEALS CARTON OF CIGARETTES FROM VIENNA CONVENIENCE STORE: An employee at 7-Eleven, 537 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on April 7 at 6:10 p.m. that a man had stolen a carton of cigarettes.

VIENNA WOMAN, 56, CHARGED WITH TRESPASSING AFTER INCIDENT AT RESTAURANT: Vienna police dispatched officers to The Virginian Restaurant, 169 Glyndon St., S.E., on April 8 at 1:35 p.m. after receiving a report that a customer allegedly was being disorderly and refusing to leave.

The restaurant owner wished to trespass her from the premises. Officers spoke to the woman, who then allegedly disobeyed their orders to leave the restaurant and continued to act disorderly.

Police arrested the 56-year-old Vienna woman and took her to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where she was charged with trespassing.

VIENNA POLICE INVESTIGATE 2 REPORTS OF STOLEN LICENSE PLATES: The Vienna Police Department in recent days has investigated two reports of license plates being stolen from residents’ vehicles.

The first incident occurred April 7 at 5:14 p.m., when a resident living in the 400 block of Creek Crossing Road, N.E., reported a license plate was missing from her vehicle.

On April 9 at 10:20 p.m., a resident informed police a license plate had been stolen from his vehicle while it was parked behind the shopping center in the 100 block of Branch Road, S.E.

VIENNA MAN SAYS SOMEONE FILED TAX RETURNS WITH HIS INFORMATION: A resident living in the 900 block of Fairway Drive, N.E., told Vienna police that sometime between March 24 and 28 someone filed tax returns using his personal information.

VIENNA RESIDENT TAKEN IN BITCOIN SCAM: A resident living in the 500 block of Woodland Court, N.W., on April 6 received a notification stating his computer had been compromised, Vienna police said.

After following instructions to fix the problem, he was notified that his bank account also was compromised.

The resident called the number he was provided for assistance and he was instructed to withdraw funds from his account and deposit them into a Bitcoin ATM. The man later realized this was a scam, police said.
