Having won consecutive championships in the top Red Division of the Colonial Swimming League, Arlington’s Knights of Columbus Holy Mackerels recently learned  their 2024 schedule as they  attempt to win a third straight title this summer.

The Holy Mackerels will have just two home matches during the five-week regular season. Those will be the  final two weeks of the campaign.

The season opens Saturday, June 15 in Loudoun County when the Knights of Columbus face the Ashburn Village Aqua Jets in an 8 a.m. meet. The squad is in Burke the next two Saturdays against the Burke Centre Penguins on June 22, then face the Burke Centre Stingers on June 29.

The Holy Mackerels are home July 6 against the Franklin Farm Froggers then July 13 versus the Cascades Rapids to close the regular season.

The Knights of Columbus will begin the season with a 10-match winning streak over three summers, finishing 5-0 in 2023 with a team of 258 swimmers.

Arlington’s Fort Myer Squids of the Colonial Swimming League’s White Division return to the same spot this summer. The Squids finished 1-3 a year ago.

As has been the case for a number of seasons, all of Fort Myer’s five matches will be on the road, beginning June 15 against the Ashburn Farm Barracudas in Loudoun County.

Following the league’s regular season will be two weeks of postseason meets with divisional competitions, followed by an individual all-star meet.
