Two Arlington 13-and-older travel baseball organizations – the Arlington Senators and Arlington Travel Baseball  – have joined forces to form Arlington United Baseball.

The program, which starts this year at the 13- and 15-under levels and also involves Arlington Senior Babe Ruth, will provide more opportunities for Arlington players to play the sport at the various levels.

“Keeping teens active and engaged in sports is our primary goal,” Arlington Senior Babe Ruth president Mike Murray said. “By combining the baseball organizations, we are able to reinforce and grow the recreation programs while enhancing the travel ball offerings in Arlington.”

Arlington Travel Baseball president Drew Thomson agreed.

“We now have the program, people and facilities to offer challenging and rewarding opportunities for more ballplayers living in Arlington to play baseball in Arlington,”  he said. “Over the past decade, the youth baseball landscape has changed significantly. We are establishing Arlington United to keep pace with those changes.”

Arlington United will include top travel teams. Up to three teams per age group will practice and play on Arlington fields, play a competitive tournament and travel schedule, and be coached by those with experience at the professional, collegiate and high school levels.

Arlington United will provide information sessions on April 9. Tryouts for the fall 2024 teams will be held in mid-May.
