The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is a participant in the 31st annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter-Carriers.

Arlington residents are being asked to leave non-perishable food in a bag next to their mailboxes on Saturday, May 13. Local letter-carriers will collect the food on their routes that day.

“Food drives are crucial for AFAC to fulfill its mission of feeding every family that comes through its doors,” the organization said. “The Stamp Out Hunger food drive engages the entire Arlington community and keeps AFAC’s shelves stocked for months.”

Those in apartments can bring donations to Arlington’s post offices no later than Friday, May 12. Starting May 15, donations can be dropped at to the AFAC warehouse (2708 South Nelson St.) or Central Library.
