Have some cake: The GazetteLeader turns a year old this week!

In print and online, the publication provides local news that makes an impact
birthday

It was a year ago this very week that the GazetteLeader dramatically burst forth on the Northern Virginia community-news scene, bringing with it the most seasoned news team across the region.

Bringing the immediacy of online with the gravitas of print, the paper quickly emerged as a go-to source for news, sports, local education, politics, comments and community news across a coverage area that includes Arlington, McLean, Great Falls, Vienna, Oakton and Tysons.

The GazetteLeader owes its existence to O’Rourke Media Group, which understands the importance of community media for both readers and advertisers. Drawing on experience with publications from around the nation, the company set to work to build a source of news that takes its role seriously and provides a key outlet for local residents to be part of the community conversation.

There have been growing pains – there always are – but as the one-year mark arrives, the GazetteLeader is primed to move into the future confidently, taking readers and advertisers along on a journey that will keep alive exceptional journalism at a time where it often is in peril.
