Arlington County Board members on Sept. 23 are slated to approve a $248,000 Virginia Department of Health grant to support programming designed to reduce health disparities and “advance health equity” as related to COVID.

Funding, which originates with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will be used to train public-health staff, translate documents, provide in-person and online interpretation, and build community-engagement and strategic-planning efforts.

The county government will have through next May to spend the funds. A local financial match is not required.
