ASSAULT ON POLICE:

• On March 17 at 7:15 p.m., a woman entered a home in the 1700 block of South Walter Reed Drive, where she was verbally confronted by an occupant, Arlington police said.

The suspect then stole a bicycle inside the home and fled the scene, police said.

A second occupant located the suspect with the bicycle at 18th Street South and South Monroe Street and approached her, and the suspect assaulted him, attempted to steal his jewelry, damaged a watch and struck him with a bottle, police said.

The suspect then assaulted a witness who attempted to intervene, police said.

As responding officers were detaining the suspect, she kicked two of them, police said.

The witness reported minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

The suspect – 18-year-old Angelina Lopez of Arlington – was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on police, two counts of assault-and-battery and single counts of malicious wounding, attempted robbery, destruction of property and burglary. She was held without bond.

• On March 22 at 6:10 p.m., a man entered a business in the 2000 block of Clarendon Boulevard, selected merchandise and exited the store without payment, Arlington police said.

A responding officer located a man matching the suspect description in the area of Clarendon Boulevard and North Rhodes Street and gave commands to stop, police said. The suspect ignored the commands and attempted to leave the area.

As the officer attempted to detain the suspect, he resisted arrest, grabbed the handle of the officer’s firearm and kicked him, police said.

The officer deployed pepper spray and was able to subdue to suspect and take him into custody.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation; the officer sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect stole merchandise from the same business during a previous incident, police said.

The suspect – 30-year-old Steven Toussaint of Alexandria – was charged with assault on police, attempted disarming a police officer, obstruction of justice and two counts of petty larceny. He was held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB:

• On March 24 at 10:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a fight in the 5100 block of Columbia Pike, Arlington police said.

According to police, a man was walking in the area when he was approached by a group of approximately five juvenile male suspects known to him. The suspects assaulted the victim, who was hit in the head with an object believed to be a baseball bat as he attempted to leave the scene.

The suspects then attempted to steal the victim’s shoes before he was able to run from the scene.

The victim sustained injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening, and was transported to a local hospital.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males, in their teens.

ROBBERY:

• On March 16 at 5:57 p.m., two women entered a business in the 2500 block of South Harrison Street, collected merchandise and attempted to exit without payment, Arlington police said.

When an employee confronted the suspects, they shoved him before exiting the store, entering a dark-colored sedan and leaving the scene, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspects are described as black females, in their 20s or 30s, one 260 to 300 pounds with short hair and the other 200 to 220 pounds with long hair.

• On March 25 at 12:11 a.m., a man met with an individual in the 1200 block of North Scott Street for a pre-arranged sale of electronics, Arlington police said.

While they were inside, a man connected with the buyer approached the victim, brandished a firearm and hit him with it before both suspects fled the scene with the electronics.

The suspects are described as white males, in their teens, 5’7” to 5’10”.

The victim was treated by medics on scene for injuries arising from the incident.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING:

• On March 16 around midnight, someone threw a glass bottle at a residence in the 3500 block of 24th Street South, Arlington police said.

A window was damaged, but no injuries were reported, police said. There were no suspect descriptions.

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• Sometime between March 14 at 4:30 p.m. and March 15 at 8:54 a.m., a business in the 2300 block of Richmond Highway was entered, Arlington police said.

The suspect stole cigarettes and caused damage before leaving the scene.

• On March 16 between 4 and 8 p.m., a home in the 170 block of North Troy Street was burglarized.

Items were rummaged through but it was not immediately known if anything was taken.

• On March 17 at 3:20 a.m., a woman was in her home in the 4000 block of Vacation Lane when she heard a loud banging and observed a man attempted for kick open a door, Arlington police said.

The suspect left the scene, and a short time later, residents in the 3700 and 3900 block of Lorcom Lane reported an individual matching the description of the suspect attempt to force entry to their home before fleeing, police said.

Responding officers located a suspect, who was captured after a foot chase that ended in the 2400 block of North Lincoln Street, police said.

The suspect – 38-year-old Deonte Bell of Arlington – was arrested and charged with four counts of attempted burglary.

• On March 21 between 2:30 and 3:20 p.m., a home in the 2600 block of South Troy Street was burglarized, Arlington police said.

The suspect or suspects rummaged through the interior and stole jewelry, electronics and cash before leaving the scene.

STOLEN VEHICLE:

• On March 18, Arlington police reported that, on March 15, a red 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Arlington Ridge Road.

• On March 22, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a white 2023 Dodge Charger with Michigan plates was reported stolen from the 2600 block of Richmond Highway.
