Arlington police on the hunt in trio of robbery incidents

Suspects remain at large in each of the episodes

The Arlington County Police Department on July 9 reported three robbery incidents it is investigating.

• On July 5 at 7:40 p.m., a man entered a business in the 2100 block of 15th Street North and began concealing items in a bag, Arlington police said.

When confronted by an employee, the suspect threw items at and threatened the employee before fleeing the scene on foot with stolen merchandise, police said.

Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area, yielding negative results.

The suspect is described a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5’11” or 6 feet tall.

• On July 6 at 8:29 p.m., three men entered a business in the 1500 block of South Fern Street, Arlington police said.

The first suspect removed two cash-register drawers containing cash and in the process pushed an employee. The second suspect took possession of the cash drawers while the third stole merchandise from behind the counter before all three suspects fled the scene in a silver sedan, police said.

The employee sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment, police said.

The suspects are described as black males, wearing face coverings.

• On July 7 at 4:14 p.m., a man entered a business in the 4100 block of Columbia Pike and began to purchase something, Arlington police said.

During the transaction, the suspect lunged over the counter, and a struggle over the item ensued between the suspect and the employee. The suspect then pushed and assaulted the employee, stole the item and fled the scene, police said.

Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area, yielding negative results.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall.
