A 42-year-old Arlington man was arrested Sept. 7 in connection with a false report of a stolen vehicle that occurred in Vienna earlier in the summer.

The owner of the vehicle reported it stolen after it had been involved in two accidents in Arlington on July 30. In those incidents, the driver and two children fled the scene.

The owner of the vehicle has been charged with filing a false police report, two counts of child neglect and two counts of hit-and-run. The suspect was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where the warrants were served.
