On Sept. 12, a resident of the 900 block of Moorefield Hill Grove, S.W., in Vienna received an alert on her computer, stating that her bank account had been compromised.
The individual later received a phone call from a man claiming he was a fraud investigator from Microsoft, advising her of a suspicious transaction from her bank account.
At the request of the resident, a Vienna police officer accompanied her to her bank, where no suspicious activity on her account was uncovered. The bank changed her account information to help prevent future fraudulent activity.
