The Vienna Town Council on June 5 approved spending an additional $11,000 with PlanIT Geo to conduct further tree-inventory work on town property.
The approval will bring the contract’s total cost to $85,000. The company already in fiscal year 2023 has invoiced the town for $67,657 for inventorying 7,570 trees and 1,079 tree-planting locations, as well as providing a three-year subscription to Tree Plotter Suite asset management and tree-mapping software.
The Council at the same meeting agreed to spend $23,000 more with Ross Tree Expert Co. (doing business as RTEC Treecare) for tree pruning and removal. The Council’s decision brings the town’s total purchase order with the company to $97,500.
