Claudio Molina of Great Falls, a student at Northern Virginia Community College (Annandale), was awarded the college bronze medal in Principles of Engineering-Technology during the 2023 SkillsUSA Championships, held in Atlanta June 21-22.
More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education.
Students were invited to the event based on their state-level performance in career competitions held earlier this spring and demonstrated their technical skills, workplace skills and personal skills in one of 110 hands-on competitions that were evaluated were evaluated by business, trade-association and union leaders from more than 650 organizations.
