Madison, Marshall football teams improve to 3-0 with big wins

Langley, McLean and Oakton were leading when games were stopped

Two local high-school football teams in the GazetteLeader’s coverage remained undefeated, improving to 3-0, with non-district victories the night of Sept. 8.

Tthe host Madison Warhawks downed the winless Robinson Rams, 26-10, and the Marshall Statesmen routed the host and winless Justice Wolves, 34-0.

The McLean Highlanders (2-0) were leading the visiting Chantilly Chargers, 28-14, when that game was delayed because of bad weather with 5:51 left to play. The contest will conclude today at 2 p.m. at McLean.

Also, the Langley Saxons (2-0) were tied with the visiting Edison Eagles at 7 in the first half when bad weather stopped that game and the Oakton Cougars were up on the W.T. Woodson Cavaliers, 13-0, at halftime when they contest also was stopped. Both will finish today, Oakton at 10 a.m. and Langley at noon.
