While all eyes are on Tropical Storm Debby and its anticipated path up the East Coast, Northern Virginia has plenty of weather to worry about before its arrival.

The tropical storm could bring plenty of rain to the local area by the end of the week and through the weekend, but first, Northern Virginia has to work through heat (daytime highs in the upper 90s), humidity and the resulting chance of stormy conditions long before the impacts of the tropical storm arrive.

The GazetteLeader's weather partner, AccuWeather, predicts the possibility of heavy thunderstorms and other summer conditions – unrelated to the incoming weather system – starting as early as tomorrow [8/6]. More pronounced rainfall chances will continue as the week rolls on.
