Yorktown wrestler wins region championship, team finishes sixth

Grappler improves his season-long individual overall record to 39-4

With one individual champion in Liam Gil-Swiger at 165 pounds with a 3-0 record, the Yorktown Patriots finished sixth at the 6D North Region wrestling tournament at Centreville High School earlier this week.

Gil-Swiger pinned two of his opponnets and improved his season record to 39-4.
Second in the region for Yorktown was Cambyses Khani at 106. Third was Chris Cobey (132) and Max Apsel (138) and fifth was Neil Allenman (157) and Telmuun Bayambajargal (190).

The Washington-Liberty Generals were 11th in the region. Basleale Muluget was the team's highest finisher, third at 106.
Khangal Dulguun was fourth (157), Ryan Boyd took fifth (165) and Dominik Woodard sixth (126).
