Wide receiver had 39 catches in one of his seasons

Yorktown High School graduate Davis Patterson was a player for Division I Northern Illinois University this season.

Yorktown High School graduate Davis Patterson finished his college football career playing his final season for the Division I Northern Illinois University football team. The 6-foot-4, 198-pound wide receiver caught 16 passes for 197 yards during the 2023 season.

He missed the final three games of the regular season with an injury and was scheduled to miss the team’s bowl game.

Prior to Northern Illinois, Patterson played college football at Division II Notre Dame College and Division I James Madison University. He caught 39 passes for 629 and five touchdowns and ran for one TD one season for Notre Dame.

Davis was an all-district player when he was on the Yorktown team.

Patterson’s brother, Max, played Division I college football at Rutgers University in recent seasons. He was a wide receiver and defensive back and played on special teams.

With two years of college football eligibility remaining, Max Patterson will transfer and play at another Division I school next season.
