Warriors third in Titan Classic boys track and field meet

Wakefield had multiple winners and other top finishers

The Wakefield Warriors boys high school track and field team finished third with 108 points at the Titan Classic invitational meet at Alexandria City High.

Host Alexandria City won with 186 and Duval High of Prince George’s County was second with 120.5.

Wakefield had a number of top finishers in individual events, like winner Eben Zimmerman in the 3,200 (10:35.12) and his second in the steeplechase, champion Bryson Johnson in the long jump (21-71/2) and first-place Owen Jacques in the high jump (6-feet).  They were the team’s three individual champions.

Also finishing second were Chris Gilpin in the 100, Michael Hutchinson in the shot put and Ben Chapuis in the high jump.

Third were Jacques in the 400 and Jackson Gray in the pole vault.

Fourth were Ovando Thelwell in the triple jump, Logan Ward in the 800 and Justin Diller in the 200.

Fifth were Antonio Smith in the 100 and triple jump, Ben Chapuis in the 1,600 and Silas Lesparance in the high jump.

Jonathan Heckler was sixth in the steeplechase and Thuyon Smith eighth in the in the 100.
